Chief Executive Officer
Eugene Frenkel is the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Legacy Wealth Advisors. Dedicated to serving the complex needs of ultra-high net worth individuals and their families, Mr. Frenkel and his team develop long-term planning strategies and investment portfolios that align with clients’ values, objectives and risk tolerance. Prior to founding The Legacy Group of Companies, Mr. Frenkel worked with Digital Sky Technologies, one of the world’s largest tech-focused private equity firms. He then moved into the private banking and investment management space and began to focus on working with ultra-high net worth families. Mr. Frenkel holds a Master of Business Administration degree in International Business and Marketing from the University of Miami, as well as a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Economics from the University of Florida. He is active in various philanthropic endeavors, including serving as a director of the Finker-Frenkel Family Foundation. Mr. Frenkel is also a Member of the Executive Board for Make-a-Wish, sits on the Board of Overseers at The University of Miami School of Business, and is a member of the Executive Board of Trustees for the Mt. Sinai Medical Center.
Chief Investment Officer
Jason Hathaway is the Chief Investment Officer at Legacy Wealth Advisors. Jason brings more than 15 years of experience in public equity, private equity, and venture capital investing to the team. He focuses primarily on sourcing and evaluating private investment opportunities across all stages and sectors, including direct investments into private companies as well as institutional fund opportunities, such as private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, and structured products.
Previously, Jason spent almost a decade at Williams Capital Advisors, LLC, a boutique investment bank based in Palo Alto, CA. As a Partner at the firm, he was responsible for all aspects of deal sourcing, due diligence, negotiation, structuring, and definitive documentation, and completed M&A and financing transactions across a wide range of industries. Prior to joining WCA, Jason was an investment professional at Levine Leichtman Capital Partners, a private equity firm based in Los Angeles, where his responsibilities included structuring debt and equity transactions, investment due diligence, and providing strategic guidance to portfolio companies. Earlier in his career, he also held investment banking roles at The Royal Bank of Scotland (Leveraged Finance Group), Lehman Brothers (Financial Institutions Group), & Piper Jaffray (Consumer M&A Group). He holds a B.A. in Economics from Pomona College. Jason also holds a variety of securities licenses, including Series 7, 24, 63, 65, and 79.
Jeffrey H. Rehm
Director of Investments
Jeffrey H. Rehm is a Partner and Director of Investments for the Legacy Group of Companies at HighTower, where he is responsible for strategic portfolio allocations and investment manager analysis.
Mr. Rehm has more than 20 years of experience in financial markets. For the past 15 years, he has built a career helping high net worth families design, implement and monitor custom investment portfolios structured around their individual goals.
Prior to joining Legacy, Mr. Rehm was a Senior Wealth Advisor at a boutique private bank in South Florida. He began his career on Wall Street working for Liberty Brokerage, an institutional bond trading firm, before transitioning to a role on Lehman Brothers’ middle-market trading and sales team, where he focused on equities and convertible bonds. In 2001, Mr. Rehm left Wall Street to global equities for a Singapore-based hedge fund, and later moved to Washington DC to join Lydian Wealth Management as an investment analyst. Mr. Rehm has a Bachelor of Science degree in Financial Economics and Biology from Fordham University, and holds the Series 7 & 66 license. When he is not at work, he is actively chauffeuring his children from soccer field to soccer field or volunteering as an active member of the finance and investment committee at Rosarian Academy.
Robert M. Hebble
Director of Wealth and Estate Planning
Robert M. Hebble is the Director of Wealth and Estate Planning for the Legacy Group of Companies. With more than 25 years of legal experience in estate, gift and income tax planning, Mr. Hebble is committed to helping individuals and their families prepare for the future. Mr. Hebble is responsible for providing guidance to affluent and high- net-worth clients, their families and their businesses. He works with clients to create estate strategies that focus on tax- efficiency, philanthropy and wealth preservation.
Prior to joining Legacy Wealth Advisors, Mr. Hebble served as Chief Fiduciary Officer and Director of Estate Planning of two Miami-based regional private banks. Previously, he was the Founder and Principal of a boutique law firm located in New York City. He represented and acted as counsel to high-net-worth families, their businesses and family offices. Such matters included gift and estate planning, business succession planning, charitable planning and planning for wealth protection. He has served in numerous instances as Trustee, executor and board member of private foundations and other entities.
Mr. Hebble earned his Master of Laws degree in Taxation from New York University School of Law. He also earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Boston University School of Law, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Mr. Hebble is a frequent speaker to professionals and clients on various planning and tax subjects. Previously, he was admitted to the New York, New Jersey and Georgia state bars and the United States Tax Court. He is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and the Estate Planning Council of Greater Miami.
Chief Investment Strategist
Lane DeCost is the Chief Investment Strategist for the Legacy Group of Companies.
With more than 35 years of experience in financial, economic, and market analysis, Mr. DeCost is well-practiced in the art of working with high net worth individuals and their families to develop customized investment strategies, which meet their specific and complex needs.
In his role at Legacy, Mr. DeCost provides analysis on global economies and financial markets, which support the development of asset allocation strategies that ensure Legacy investments align with every client’s individual long-term goals. Additionally, he assists in the analysis of the investment vehicles and managers the team utilizes to implement client portfolios.
Prior to joining Legacy, Mr. DeCost served as Senior Vice President and Director of Investments at Gibraltar Private Bank. He has also held positions as a Chief Investment Officer, Senior Portfolio Manager, Economist, Financial Analyst, and Research Analyst.
Mr. DeCost completed his Master of Arts and Bachelor of the Arts degrees in Economics from Virginia Commonwealth University, and he also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation.
Director of Operations
Aaron Newman is the Director of Operations at the Legacy Group of Companies.
With a background in operations, business analysis and project-based work, Mr. Newman’s integrates the financial and operational components of running an advisory business. In this role, Mr. Newman focuses on client service delivery, working closely with the team to execute on investments that align with their clients’ long term financial goals. He is also responsible for managing Legacy’s custodial and reporting relationships, internal compliance, technology management, KYC administration, client deliverables, onboarding and investment execution.
Prior to joining Legacy in 2015, Mr. Newman worked as a consultant for both a large international organization and a U.S.-based HRM Software company.
Mr. Newman holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Miami, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business and Japanese from San Jose State.
He sits on the Board of Directors for His House, a faith-based social services agency providing safe and loving homes to children without homes. Mr. Newman is also an active volunteer with Feeding America and is involved in KIVA, an organization that facilitates financing for entrepreneurs in developing and undeveloped countries.
Lifestyle Management Director
Raul Cabrera is the Lifestyle Management Director at the Legacy Group of Companies. Providing lifestyle and concierge services to wealthy individuals and families, Mr. Cabrera works with clients and their advisors to deliver a variety of bespoke services tailored to their preferred level of assistance and personal requirements.
Prior to joining Legacy in 2015, Mr. Cabrera worked as a private Personal Assistant to a prominent South Florida family. He began his career in hospitality working at a high-end boutique hotel in Miami Beach. Mr. Cabrera brings substantial experience in Travel and Destination Management, Entertainment, Health & Wellness, Physical Asset Management, and overall client lifestyle management. Mr. Cabrera holds a degree in Business Administration from Miami-Dade College. Mr. Cabrera is an active volunteer with many charitable organizations, including the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Best Buddies International, and Hope for a Healthier Humanity.
Trusts and Estates Analyst
Maria Grigoryeva is the Trusts and Estates Analyst at the Legacy Group of Companies.
In this role, Ms. Grigoryeva focuses on researching complex legal issues and acts as a liaison with foreign legal teams. Her deep experience in wealth management is augmented by her recent tenure with an estate planning firm.
Prior to joining Legacy Wealth Advisors, Ms. Grigoryeva was employed as a paralegal for Snyder & Snyder P.A., where she prepared estate planning documents and conducted legal research. Earlier in her career, she worked as a private banker with Rosbank, a Moscow-based division of French bank Société Générale, where she maintained relationships with an international book of clientele and provided knowledge in a variety of banking and investment products.
Ms. Grigoryeva holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from the Russian Academy of Public Service and is currently working towards a degree in Paralegal Studies from Miami-Dade College. She is fluent in English and Russian.
Senior Wealth Strategist
Thomas Moriarty is a Senior Wealth Strategist for Legacy Wealth Advisors. Possessing a keen
analytical background, he has worked in the financial services industry for over ten years and holds both the Certified Investment Management Analyst® and Certified Private Wealth Advisor® designations administered by the Investments & Wealth Institute (formerly IMCA). He has been exposed to a complex body of wealth management and investment knowledge, ethically contributing to prudent investment decisions by providing objective advice and guidance to individual and institutional investors.
Prior to joining Legacy Wealth Advisors, Thomas was a Senior Investment Analyst at a boutique financial institution, based in South Florida, which focused on servicing high net worth individuals within the community. During his time there, he focused on crafting tailored financial plans and investment solutions, incorporating the client’s liquidity needs, time horizon and risk profile. Additionally, he was instrumental in the manager due diligence process and asset allocation construction.
Thomas earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Florida. Having started his career at an international bank in Nicaragua, he has a working proficiency in Spanish.
In his spare time, he sits on the boards of Awesome Foundation Miami and LocalTAU, two distinct grassroot organizations that seek to promote positive change, be it environmentally, socially, or entrepreneurially, throughout South Florida.
Executive Assistant & Office Manager
Stacie Hooker is the Executive Assistant & Office Manager at the Legacy Group of Companies.
In this role, Ms. Hooker provides administrative support to Legacy’s executive staff while maintaining the office’s services and overall environment. With several years of office management experience, Ms. Hooker tailors her skills to meet the needs of various clients.
Previously, Ms. Hooker worked as an Office Services Supervisor for PWC Miami, where she managed the office services staff, oversaw office operations and was responsible for records retention as well as facility maintenance. She often traveled to other sites to train staff and worked alongside the company’s Market Service Manager to complete many special projects.
Prior to PWC, Ms. Hooker was an IT Services Project Coordinator at OneSource Building Technologies based in Houston, TX, where she managed multiple projects and provided infrastructure, network installation, and data center relocation support.
Ms. Hooker graduated with a degree in Computer Programming from Northshore Technical College and is currently furthering her education to broaden her skills.
